Evans, Richard J. Lying About Hitler. New York: Basic Books, 2001. Pp 104-148.

• This book is a good source of support for Liptadt’s argument that Irving was a Holocaust denier. Evans is a professor at the University of Cambridge and has had numerous other publications which have received some esteemed awards. I find his opinion to be well researched, as he has spent most of his time researching German history, particularly the social and cultural history. JS

Guttenplan, D.D. The Holocaust on Trial. New York: W.W. Norton and Company, 2001. (pp1-16, 138-195, 255-286)

• The book is relatively easy to read and very interesting. Each chapter begins with a brief historical background of the topic to be discussed, then delves straight into summarizing the trial, inserting at will outside facts, observations of the men in court, and opinions on their effective, or non-effective, strategies to win the case. • This site, put together by the Channel 4 News team, features a brief background on the case but also gives you some background on the lives and works of both the key players involved in the case (Irving and Lipstatd). JH

Committee for Open Debate on the Holocaust: website, http://www.codoh.com/

• This is Holocaust denial site that says that their purpose is "to encourage intellectual freedom with respect to the holocaust controversy." They provide many links to articles, discussions, and support to those who wish, not to actually deny the Holocaust ever happened, but instead to deny especially the gas chamber and genocide theories. They do so in order to be "truthful about the historical record,"
• Bradley R. Smith seems to be the author or compiler of the site. His work, besides what is on this website, was published in a four-issue journal, founded by Smith, meant to be distributed through college campuses, but instead turned into an "e-zine" due to lack of funds. The site notes that it has served from 5/16/98 through 1/31/02, but does not specify when it was last updated. Says it serves over 22,000 people, but that link did not go through so I was unable to check it. JF

Holocaust Denial on Trial, www.holocaustdenialontrial.org

• This site focuses on the trial itself in a legal aspect, though still brings in historical content as evidence in the case. It provides the visitor with large amount of information on the case, from evidence used in the trial to transcripts.
• Though it does not mention any specific authors by name it is a "project of Emory University’s Witness to the Holocaust Program and the Institute for Jewish Studies. JH

• This is a Holocaust denial website whose purpose is "dedicated to promoting greater public awareness of key chapters of history," especially to "separate historical fact from propaganda fiction." They provide information, opinions, and links dealing with revisionist history. They specifically deny racist charges and claim a purely historical interest.
• This site has no authors listed, but the director is Mark Weber. This site is linked with the Journal of Historical Review, the director of which is also Weber, which has been publishing revisionist articles since 1980. This site seems to have been last updated on 11/19/03. JF

• This website was helpful as it gathers new articles that came out about the Irving trial. There are articles from big name papers such as the Los Angeles Time and the Chicago Tribune, as well as smaller paper like the Jewish Times. With such a large spread of articles, I find it to be a valid source in showing the different opinions held regarding the trial. JS

White Nationalist Resource Page: website, http://www.stormfront.org/

• This is, in their own words, "a resource for those courageous men and women fighting to preserve their White Western culture, ideals, and freedom of speech and association- a forum for planning strategies and forming political and social groups to ensure victory." They provide opinions and links on such topics, and also include documents and articles on such topics including "evidence of the habitability of racial differences," on the Holocaust, and on understanding National Socialism, to name a few. I find this site to be racist.
• I could not find any author’s names on any of the sections, nor did I find any bibliographies or information on where the authors obtained their information. I did not find any evidence of papers published by this site. This site had the number of 8487977 visitors since March 27, 1995. The most recent articles I saw were dated 1999, so that leads me to believe the site had not been updated since then. JF
